At its heart, Riftdelve is a story about finding the courage to rock the boat, even over troubled waters.
Sarsenna is a coastal town under an eternal crescent moon, a former penitentiary colony that outlived its purpose and became something else: a self-sustaining extraction economy of misfits. Perched on the mountain road inland is a huge rift-portal, a gash in space-time stabilized by long-since forgotten precursors. Those who have been blessed with the power to traverse it return to shifting ruins and unfamiliar dungeons each time they’re called back in.
You arrive the way all Drifters do. Drowned, tangled in the sea, unnamed, hauled out of the water by the lamplighter who keeps watch by the docks. You settle in with the wary locals.
One day, an artifact returns from the other side that has no business existing anywhere in this world. The hero of the realm vanishes in the night, leaving his trusty greatsword shoved to the hilt in the dirt outside his protégée’s home. And strangest of all, it seems like everyone in town is lying to you about something.
Descend
Dive the portal, either alone or with friends. Channel rift-energy to light the way and empower yourself and allies through the constantly shifting ruins. Sometimes you’ll find weird treasures. Other times, revelations. The scenery becomes progressively more otherworldly and unusual, making you wonder which side of the portal you should really be trusting.
How does it play?
V1’s static and flat design under our former engineer has been 86’d in favour of a third-person movement-focused action RPG with MMO/hero genre ability and combat mechanics. The core loop is the procedural, tileset-based dungeon dive: fresh ruins every descent. Big focus on a fluid, snappy and fast-feeling movement system.
Roadmap
Playable pre-alpha by the end of 2026, followed by a backer campaign to fund development proper. We plan to open up for Steam Early Access in Q1/Q2 2027.
